New house

After looking for a new house for many, many years we finally found the right one and moved.

The new place is about a mile from the old house, but is much sunnier without all the coastal fog. (We still have fog of course -- just not so much.) It's also one level (which is great for Ollie) and sits on 5 acres of land. Perfect for Marghie, Carlos, and the dogs.

Wilkinson School first year recap

We had a great year at Wilkinson School. Carlos moved from the local
public school and went to the ultra-small Wilkinson for second grade.

All in all, a very positive year. Academically things went really well.
Carlos very much enjoyed the holistic curriculum -- besides the normal
academic classes, he had art, music, crafts, nature hikes, science fair,
and a million other activities.

The teaching staff are really first rate, and that makes all the
difference. The student/teacher ratio is really good and that helps
everyone get personal attention.

On the down side, the physical plant is so tiny that everyone has to be
very creative to get through the day. And sometimes the class size is
great, but sometimes it would be nice to have a few more friends.
(Carlos's grade has 10 students.)

We've already started 3rd grade. Since 2nd and 3rd grade are shared
it's the same teacher, same room, and same desk.

Way Back Machine

We're going to turn on the Way Back machine and publish some old
postings that never made it out. Stay tuned!

Welcome Yoshi!

A new puppy joined our family. Yoshi is an 8 week old Chesapeake Bay Retriever:

He is a bundled of fun and we are very happy to have him.

A Chessie is a large retriever type of dog. Yoshi will probably be
about 80 pounds when he is fully grown.
