After a surprising amount of grief, we got our front door installed.  It comes with the light show for no extra charge:

And our “fireplace” is finished also (it’s really a gas insert):

Today is our dear friend Deirdre’s Birthday.   Happy Birthday!  W00T!

Witness our creative sandbox skills in all their glory:

And we also got a new garage door.

The kitchen is essentially done.   Boy we did a great job!  We still need the replacement oven and some tweaking of the lighting, but I’m calling it done enough.  With all the flooring, electrical, closets, and painting left I’d say we’ll move upstairs week after thanksgiving.

Oh, we moved all the hvac pipes so we could put in a proper garage door (which happened today and looks lovely).  The pipes fit much nicer now.  Guess what?  Now the furnace is busted.  Sweet.

Is it just me, or does my friend Dean totally look like that guy in Zenits from http://pics.yemii.com/swedish-dance-bands.html ?

Looking again, I think it must just be me.

It looks like we’re just barely going to be moved upstairs by Thanksgiving.  It’s close enough that we might not make it, so instead of cooking this year we’re going to the fancy buffet at the local fancy hotel.  If you’re in the area and want to join us, drop a line so I can add to our reservations (early is better).

The results are in:  28 trick-or-treaters total.

Notable costumes for the under 16 crowd:  sexy nurse, sexy referee, sexy pirate, sexy judge, and sexy cowgirl.

Plus one train engineer:
