The bench is a builtin underneath the windows. The fireplace and TV are attached to the walls, but the furniture is moveable.

We went to Old Town while in San Diego

We met the teacher on Friday and Carlos starts Kindergarten tomorrow. He starts out at half day — so no lunch which is great for us.
Update: things went great. Took about 12min to walk there even with Carlos induced delays.
Looks like we’re not going to add any new windows to the great room. The wall we thought was an exterior wall, wasn’t. We had hoped we would get 5 or so small windows high up that would provide more light. Sorry jml.
On the plus side, there is room in the ceiling now to put light cans if we want to do that.

We’re finally back home. Limited casuilaties on this trip: only the camera got destroyed.
Today is Carlos’ last day at day care. He’s been going there since my parents moved back to San Diego so this is a big change for him.
We leave today for San Diego, and Carlos starts K a week from Monday. No problem. No problem at all.
Carlos and I are heading to SoCal for a few days to see The Grandparents, Killer Whales, etc. We might even see the D&L if they can fit us in to their schedule.
